In the Father's Day and if you have not yet decided what to give to your dear dad and need last minute idea comes to our aid the Pepe Jeans brand offers accessories that very special man. The collection is inspired, in fact, the world of pop art, specifically to the greatest artist of this strand of the fifties: Andy Warhol. This line, for spring / summer 2011, seeks to explore the original meaning of the world of Warhol, his artistic technique and reproduce it in any animal. An original idea and fun for people who love to play with his own style.
The art and fashion worlds are extremely close and in many cases the combination of the two gives us the explosive results. One of the best outcomes were the shoes, really phenomenal, made by designer Nicholas Kirkwood in homage to the graffiti artist Keith Haring.
If you love your dad looks very special and embellished with details that do not go unnoticed pop you can choose one of three proposals that I show in gallery. The screen prints, printed directly on different tissues, opening a gash on the Silver Factory, Warhol, as an x-ray of Nico, a model and singer of the Velvet Underground, on a cotton poplin shirt. Or a Polaroid taken by Warhol before I did a serigraph, printed on a vintage jersey, as in the collection made for the autumn winter 2010 2011.
Heads show that this process work are the camouflage jacket, with a portrait of Warhol printed directly onto the fabric, or his self-portraits made in the last years of his life, or a screen print made by Warhol in which a crowd of people is immortalized by a Polaroid. Repeating this print on a nylon jacket, it creates a model that at first glance you look like an abstract painting.
